What kind of artwork do I need to give you?

We use files created with Adobe Illustrator in vector format with outlined fonts. Files can be saved as either an AI of PDF.

Do you etch full bottles?

Our etching processes are excellent for use on both full and empty bottles but we prefer empty bottles.

What is the lead time?

Etching lead time is usually 3 to 4 weeks. Screen printing lead time is usually 2 to 3 weeks.

What is the difference between Etching & Screen printing?

Etching is a process of sandblasting that actually carves into the surface of the glass, producing a true 3 dimensional result. Screen printing is a process that prints a specialized heat cured ink onto the surface of the glass. 

Do you deliver?

We do deliver within the Napa and surrounding areas.  We also ship LTL and UPS. Many of our clients chose to will call their products at our manufacturing facility.

Can California Etching provide us with bottles?

We have a good inventory of bottles from 1.5L to 18L in stock for purchase. We also have good relationship with most of the major bottle manufacturers.

How long will screen printing last on glasses?

Screen printing will last through hundreds of dishwasher cycles. It is best to use mild detergents when washing screen printed glasses.

What is satin etch?

Satin etch is a term used for a screen printed process that simulates or mimics the appearance of etched glass. It provides a beautiful low cost alternative to etching. (Our printing inks are also 100% lead-free)

Do you sell wine glasses?

We sell and inventory a wide variety of stemware and other types of glass. We carry something that will fit almost any need from fine crystal to every day use for tasting rooms and home.  

Do you provide pre-production samples?

We are able to provide a pre-production sample if required, at an additional charge. We recommend this for complex artwork designs. 

Will you supply us with a proof?

As part of the artwork setup we provide a virtual mock up for evaluating size, placement and colors for each project.

Do you ship?

We ship via many sources. Just provide us with the “ship to” address and we will take care of the rest.

Can we have our glasses drop shipped to you for etching or printing?

If you have an established relationship with a glass manufacturer and would like to have the glass send directly to us we can accommodate you.

How do you handle breakage?

We have a very good record regarding breakage, less than ½ of 1%. If breakage occurs it usually happens when we receive the glass. It is always advisable to order a little extra, it is glass and it does break.

What are PMS colors?

PMS colors are a standard set by the Pantone Matching System. We have a physical book of these colors so that when a color is requested we know exactly what that color is. It cuts out the guess work and you get what you want.

Do you wax bottles?

We wax dip bottles of all sizes and have a large selection of colors to pick from!

If I order etched bottles and give you an address list can you ship them for me?

Yes, we do fulfillment of orders. All you need to do is provide us with a list of names and addresses and we will take care of everything for you. We can also provide you with gift boxes and insert special thank you card in the package.

Do you have gift boxes for etched bottles of wine and glasses?

We can provide you with wood single bottle boxes with logos branded or silk screened to beautiful designer paper gift boxes. Let us know and we will find something to suit your occasion.
